The PT-C-HDAEDE 4K 18Gbps HDMI Audio De-Embedder and Embedder allows for complex audio manipulations and thus opens up completely new installation concepts. It is equipped with one HDMI input and one HDMI output including HDMI ARC support as well as connectors for digital (S/PDIF coaxial, max. 96KHz / 16Mbps) or analog (bal., 5-pin Phoenix) audio de-embedding and one analogue connector (3-pin Phoenix) for separate audio embedding. The HDMI connections support the full HDMI v2.0 bandwidth up to 18Gbps for resolutions up to 4K@60 (4:4:4). All standards of the HDMI v2.0 specification are supported, such as HDR, DeepColor 12bit and HDCP 2.2 as well as digital audio formats up to LPCM 7.1 / 24bit / 96 kHz, Dolby Atmos and DTS-X.
The PT-C-HDAEDE's ability to freely combine the various audio input and output signals allows it to be used as a simple audio de-embedder or embedder, but also as a voiceover unit, microphone preamp or audio mixer in more complex situations.

Four DIP switches on the front of the unit control the entire mixing behaviour of the PT-C-HDAEDE. A total of 16 switch combinations can set just about any conceivable output format configuration available. The four DIP switches control the following settings, in this order: 1. enable / disable analog audio input, 2. enable / disable HDMI input audio, 3. HDMI output audio configuration, 4. S/PDIF output audio configuration. An exact description of the procedure can be found in the detailed manual.
Also on the front panel there a toggle switch with three possible positions can be found which determines the format of the analog audio input. Here it is possible to choose between a "Line", "Mic" or a "Mic 48V" format. The latter setting is suitable for integrating a (condenser) microphone that is supplied with 48V phantom power.
HDMI input and output both support the reverse transmission of an audio signal via ARC.
The integrated HDMI downscaler can rescale an incoming 4K signal to FullHD / 1080p, making the PT-C-HDAEDE compatible with both modern and older display devices.
The Micro USB port allows for easy firmware updates.
Two additional buttons on the front panel control the volume of the analog audio input in a range from -18dB to +24dB in 1dB steps.
The 5V / 1A power connector on the back of the unit is screwable, making it suitable for professional installations. A power LED also indicates the operating status.
The compact housing with an overall size of 151 x 93.5 x 21 mm takes up little space during installation and weighs just 360g. This means that the PT-C-HDAEDE can be installed and operated invisibly and in the smallest of spaces, e.g. in an AV rack in a server room or in a lowboard.
